Low Sugar and no cook!
- 5 cups Strawberries
- 2 1/2 cups Raspberries
- 2 1/2 cups blueberries
Directions: Use dry measuring cups and exact measurements of the fresh picked fruit. Measure into a large bowl, leave room for mixing well. Place the desired amounts of prepared fruit into this large bowl.Remove the caps of the strawberries, check the raspberries and blueberries to make sure no stems are left behind. Then crush the fruit.
In a medium saucepan measure with a dry measuring cup the exact amount of cane sugar- 3 cups for low sugar. Do not substitute with other sweeteners, or you will have a failure of jam to set. Stir in 1 package of SURE-JELL for less sugar or no sugar needed recipes premium fruit pectin.
Add 1 cup of water, stir. Bring to a boil on medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Turn off burner and remove from heat. Add this heated pectin to fruit mixture, stir well for 1 minute until well blended.
Fill all the sanitized containers, leaving 1/2 inch space at top to allow for expansion when frozen. Cover tight with lids.
Let stand overnight at room temperature until the jam starts to thicken up. Can be refrigerated for up to 3 weeks or frozen for up to 1 year. If frozen, let it thaw in the refrigerator before using. For more details and recipes, go to www.surejell.com.
